Website Design is More Than a Great Name

Many people think that building a website is all about making a great looking page on the internet that has your company name on it and your contact information. This will not bring you any new customers for sure. You need to have several things considered when developing your website even if you are selling air suspension kits for trucks. Great Variety in Web Site Building

One of the best things about working in Web design is the massive range of possible uses for a website. Some people set up a website to do internet marketing, others a personal blog and hundreds of other reasons.

Here at Web Page Builders, we often start with open source software such as WordPress or Joomla as the basic structure of the site and then customize it afterwards. Both these platforms are easy to work with, and – although they need keeping up to date to protect from hackers, they are far, far less expensive than building a site from scratch, therefore offer substantial savings to the client.

Both WordPress and Joomla have been around for years and have robust coding – we would not recommend anything else in fact, although bespoke sites can be easier to protect the extra cost is prohibitive for many.

Whether one is trying to make money blogging, or perhaps selling designer tote bags from the Marc Jacobs Outlet, the basic requirements are the same: 

  1. Solid coding
  2. Easy to use and change
  3. SEO friendly
  4. Clean looking
  5. Easy to manage

Anything else is either superfluous or ego driven. Many websites are created as vanity sites, and there is nothing wrong with that, but if the site is being built as a promotional tool, or to make money with, the requirements will not change.
